I know having a stranger burning to comment here can feel more impactful than family who of course love you (and yes you treat friends as fam), but I’m so jazzed you’re publishing. // I am curious as to why no Notes app. -- Or maybe I realize it does garble up to immediate “archive”… // Such an anecdote reminds of a thick James Michener book called Drifters (‘71) in which each episodic chapter is dedicated to a character and begins with a page of single sentence instructions like “Don’t eat at a restaurant with Ma or Pa in the name.”
I really liked the remark of "If you have to draft the text in your notes app, don’t.". When I turn to the notes app it has always been to write a text with strong emotion. Could be a text of love, anger, or saddness. Perhaps instead of drafting that text it would be best to call them, or to simply take a breath. Just my interpretation.
friendship is one of my favorite things to read about <33 was excited for u to publish because i was curious about your style; i was not disappointed!! to me it felt succinct but in a way that allowed the words to travel directly to the heart, i loved it. i can't wait to read more from u
Aww this is so wholesome and beautifully written. My birthday was July 25th and my friend coming over made my whole day. Friends are so special and necessary
So happy you're on Substack!!!
LOVE YOU
Sophia ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Wonderful read Sophia!
I think sitting across from somebody puts it all into perspective. Ditch the notes app, ask them to lunch instead.
